Submit a paper proposal on any topic in political science, including the Congress theme, Uncertain Democracies: Rethinking Governance in a Changing Global System. Don't miss this opportunity to present your research and exchange ideas with colleagues worldwide.

Hundreds of open panels are awaiting your paper abstracts. Select the one(s) best related to your research. Note that you can still submit closed panel proposals until 4 November 2026.

Submission of Proposals

To submit a proposal, you will need to have an IPSA online account (free). While IPSA membership is not required for submission, it is mandatory for participation and registration for the IPSA World Congress. For more information, please visit the IPSA Individual Membership page.

Researchers are invited to submit a paper proposal to a relevant track or to a specific open panel within a track. The track groups are:

Congress Theme (CT) Track;
General (GL) Tracks;
Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Tracks;
Research Committee (RC) Tracks.

All paper and closed panel proposals must be submitted online via the Congress website.

No emails, PDFs, or Word documents will be accepted as submissions.

Paper Submission Guidelines and Rules

Paper proposals may be submitted to one track, or to an open panel within a track. Papers for closed panels must be submitted using the specific link provided in the invitation from a panel convenor.

Panel Submission Guidelines and Rules

Panel proposals may be submitted in up to two (2) tracks. To submit a closed panel proposal, you are responsible for recruiting four (4) to six (6) paper presenters, a chair, and a discussant.

Language

Paper proposals may be submitted in English or French to any track or closed panel. Paper proposals in Italian may only be submitted to the LOC tracks. Closed panel participants may present in one additional agreed-upon language beyond English, French, or Italian (LOC panels).
